Captain's Match Report
A good turnout of thirty one golfers was eventually equalled by the glorious summer sun. The course at Darenth was freely handing out the points with the top ten positions being rounded off with 33 points. The top prizes were hottly contested with just one point separating the top four positions. Well done to Roy Goodhew for taking the Div One title (4th overall with 37points). Trevor Woods deserves a mention, third overall with 37 points but was pipped to the Div Two title by Steve Tothill with 38 points. Equally unlucky was Steve who lost out on the overall prize on count back to the Div Three winner Pete Tweddell. 24 points on the back nine for Pete was always going to be tough to beat on count back.
The group winners for the day were Trevor Woods, David Smith, David Swinbank and guest Ian Skinner. Their combined score for the round was 49 points. Well done to Mary Spanner who won the Best Guest prize with 31 points. Also well done to Luke Moore for winning two of the nearest the pins, which usually isn't allowed but he was the only name on two of the sheets!
Hopefully we'll have some cracking weather and another good turnout for next months event at Cobtree Manor. Please do attend and bring along some guests.
