Captain's Match Report
The sun shone brightly for 30 golfers to try and tame this course with all the ditches and water, again I was unable to play because of my broken foot which is on the mend which means I will be able to play in Portugal in a weeks time. Again I was able to have a buggy which meant I could shoot around the course and see how people were doing. The Par 3's seemed to be playing difficult as I observed very few people managing to hit the greens and those that did watched as the ball rolled off. However on the 13th hole I saw something that I've never seem before and doubt I will ever see again as Brain Goodhew tee'd off and put his ball into the bunker then Dave Swinbank done exactly the same however when I looked into the bunker I could only see 1 ball which was in a hole just under the lip until you looked closer then you saw 2 balls in the same hole please see the attached pictures. On a sad note this was Dave Catchpole's last monthly event with MAGS as he will be jetting off to Australia in a couple of weeks and I for one will miss him as he is what a MAGS member should be; a good laugh, enjoys his golf win or lose, is great company and an all round great bloke and I'm sue would have made a great captain. Anyway here are the days results as you will see it was very close and all 3 divisions scored the same with the overall winner winning on count back
On a follow up from Friday if anybody would like to join us on next year's golf trip please email me as places go quite fast and we would like to book everybody at the same time, at present we have 16 people so to keep things tidy we would be looking at 24 as the mini busies to the golf courses only take 8 people at a time, this is not a commitment at the moment we just want to see what interest we get.
