Captain's Match Report

I would like to say what an honour it is to be captain this year of MAGS.
I hope that the coming year we will have great games of golf and that MAGS goes from strength to strength. We have had a great year under Derek’s captaincy and I hope we can build on that.
I'd like to say how much we owe to the committee who do all their best to make sure that we run as well as we can. They spend a considerable amount of time for MAGS, Tim for all the arrangements for golf days, Peter for the unenviable task of handicaps, Paul for sorting out our competitions but a big thank you to Brian who has just given up being the treasurer after 12 years. Thank you so much Brian for always being there taking the money. Dave of course being the secretary and now as treasurer couldn’t be bothered to turn up this month as he was drinking in America.

So Broome Park, 42 of us played and a mixed day of weather, warm it wasn’t especially on a buggy. My playing companions Brian and Bill played admirably, I thought I wasn’t doing too badly but Bill stormed away hitting 38 points and winning the day. Brian scored 32 and won Div 3 which I awarded to Scott. Apparently Peter checked and I had got it wrong so sorry Scott. Paul Damper came in winning Div 1.
So my first game as captain being given 42 cards to sort out and try and get it right the blooming countbacks arghhh. I’m afraid I got it wrong as mentioned earlier. I'll try and do my best but might need help if you see me struggling.
